For direct access to CEMEX Career Opportunities, visit us at https://jobs.cemex.com/.Job SummaryThe primary goal of this position is to maintain and improve the efficiency of Ready Mix Plant Operation systems, by testing, optimizing and calibrating a variety of industry specific software and hardware systems.Initiate performance trials, coordinated with local Operations personnel and outside vendors, in order to verify system improvements and when appropriate make mechanical changes to Plant equipment and/or operating techniques that will optimize the manufacturing process. When necessary the Specialist will also conduct computer hardware repairs and/or replacements, software modifications and settings adjustments used in the manufacturing process.Job ResponsibilitiesConduct process studies and develop recommendations for future capital equipment, or its operation, in order to improve efficiencies and/or increase production while maintaining product quality and reducing costsMonitor tolerance and efficiency reports to ensure plant and system issues are addressed in a timely mannerDocument results of process studies to provide a history from which trends and databases can be developedConduct industry analysis and studies to affect specific modifications to equipment or its operation to improve RM operations/processesPresent findings and recommendations to ManagementAssist in analysis of future capital improvement projects that relate to Plant Systems improvement. In addition, prepare budgeting, planning and execution of those projectsAssume a support role in capital project management for those projects that affect Plant SystemsAs well as providing technical support for operations employees and/or outside contractors who may be working on capex projectsThrough remote or on site analysis, manage, support, configure, and maintain concrete computerized plant batching systems and applications for multiple concrete production plants, located across a wide geographic area, modifying as needed for specific machine control configurationsDirectly responsible for improving deficiencies with the batching systemsFine tune, analyze, and test all improvements made to our concrete plant computer systems and/or batching operations by internal personnel or outside vendorsCoordinate with fellow Operations Management, Technical Services Managers and IT to ensure implementation of new programs, system enhancements, software upgrades, system configuration, and proper functionality of the overall computerized systemProvide support and direct others to support system users as required, including help in regards to issues escalated from the CEMEX Shared Services help deskCoordinate systems maintenance and repairs with outside service vendors as necessaryDevelop training materials and provide instruction for operations employees on process principles, system constraints, and updates on future plant operating system improvementsTrain operators in the techniques required to implement software upgrades, as well as actual system operationsContinually seek knowledge on all technical and team leading skills to better serve the operations and its employeesActively lead in Company safety programs related to Plant Systems operations, and provide training materials for the safe operations of our PlantsAdhere to all CEMEX and O.S.H.A. rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant groundsMeet or exceed company safety standardsPerform other job responsibilities as assigned by management

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent requiredAt least three years of experience in Ready-Mix plant operations or plant maintenance

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledgeable of Ready-Mix plant components and how they interface to the computer systems including electrical control circuits, networks and communication systemsComplete understanding and knowledge of electrical wiring and ability to read schematicsAdvanced level knowledge of computerized systems software packages including Spectrum, Scorpion, Eagle and Command batch systems and computersAdvanced computer knowledge of Windows OS, application software and printersGood oral and written communication skillsWilling to travelMechanically inclinedHighly motivated and self-directedAbility to work independently with limited supervision and to work in a team environment

Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoorsMust wear protective equipment while at the location
