The position prepares for and conducts hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions.Key Responsibilities
Conducts depositions and examinations under oath and prepares summary documentsPrepares witnesses and clients for depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trials including expert witnessesKeep claim business partners updated on status (initial client contact, initial litigation plan, recurring contacts, strategy conferences, pre-trial, etc.)Contacts clients to discuss their case and answer any questionsReview new file assignments, all documentary evidence, and approve initial pleadings, propound discovery, and/or develop strategyInvestigate and pursue subrogation litigation as appropriateDraft post-trial motionsTry and/or arbitrate cases by preparing motions, motions in limine and summary documents in limineConducts settlement/dispositive proceedings (e.g., mediations, arbitrations, etc.)Prepares and conducts court appearances (matter management conferences, hearings, status conferences, etc.)Education
4 year Bachelors Degree (Required)Juris Doctor (Required)Experience
5 or more years of experience (Preferred)Must have be State Bar Licensed to practice law in the state of TexasSupervisory Responsibilities
