Position Overview
Navistar in Lisle is looking to add a Technical Specialist-Powertrain to their Powertrain Platform team.
Navistar is seeking a dynamic Technical Specialist-Powertrain to support our S13 Sustaining Powertrain activities. In this role, you will lead and drive problem-solving initiatives for MY25-26 certification, CARB Omnibus, ongoing Field Quality (FQ), and Product Change Requests (PCR). You’ll effectively communicate top issues with peers and leaders, ensuring the Navistar brand’s high standards are upheld in all R&D activities. You’ll collaborate closely with Powertrain SMT, Controls & Software SMT, Calibration SMT, and Certification & Compliance teams to ensure the S13 powertrain remains competitive and compliant in the marketplace. We are looking for a proactive problem-solver with strong communication skills who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is committed to maintaining high standards and driving continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Manage Powertrain related daily activities
Drive warranty, field issue, and fault code occurrences to closure
Review Pyxis Concerns and assign resolutions to responsible owners and follow through to closure
Interact with Scania team to communicate SW and calibration issues and define release planning
Manage all Powertrain related Change Requests through CCB meetings
Program budget monitoring and review, and re-allocation
Interact with Sales and Marketing for feedback and new feature requests
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
At least 12 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies and/or computer science experience
At least 2 years of experience leading new technologies or specialized technologies
OR
Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
At least 8 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies and/or computer science experience
At least 2 years of experience leading new technologies or specialized technologies
OR
PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science
At least 5 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies or specialized technologies and/or computer science experience
At least 2 years of experience leading new technologies or specialized technologies
Additional Requirements
Qualified candidates, excluding current Navistar employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Navistar does not anticipate providing employment related work sponsorship for this position (e.g., H-1B status)
