Kitter Team Lead 1st Shift

This position leads and drives the daily activities of the manufacturing kitting team. The primary responsibilities will be developing, leading, and driving processes to prepare, organize, and kit manufactured parts, by customer order and priority, in preparation of downstream manufacturing processes. The role will include lifting materials, finished products, and packing items, both manually and with the use of hoists, forklifts, and pallet jacks.Specific Responsibilities Include:Comply with plant safety procedures to ensure a safe environment.Defines kitting processes and procedures to ensure status and organization is maintained daily.Leads the kitting team and all manufacturing kitting activities on a daily basis, across fabrication and assembly areas.Log materials received, work with other department team leaders to establish target dates of kit completion and maintain organization of kits by machine/customer.Performs repetitive kitting of the company's products into bins, pallets, and racks.May perform other packaging tasks including placing labels on packages, operating small production equipment, putting manuals into binders, counting, and sorting various items, and forming or breaking down boxes for final product.Checks goods received internally or externally and for distribution against work orders, maintains records of goods, and rejects unsatisfactory items.Lifts heavy items and may operate a forklift, hoist, or pallet jack.Responsible for training kitting team members on processes and procedures.Education:High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience and Background:3-5 years of leadership experience is required, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Strong organizational skills.Demonstrate competency in basic shop math.Ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids.Flexible and responsive, with a strong teamwork orientation.Good verbal and written communication skills.Desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge.Commitment to quality and accuracy of work performed and continuous improvement.Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.Demonstrated ability to work well with others and to participate in a cross-functional team.Possess ability to drive for results, hold self-accountable, and continuously improvement.Computer skills required: Excel, Word, Microsoft Outlook, and MRP (Traverse).Physical Requirements:Most of the job function is performed in a manufacturing setting requiring high degree of safety precautions.JC Ford Company is an equal-opportunity employer and drug-free workplace.
