Job DescriptionWestern Digital is looking for a skilled communications leader to join our Corporate Marketing team. As Senior Director you’ll be responsible for building modern, compelling communication strategies for Western Digital’s corporate and product brands globally. The Senior Director will lead planning, development, and execution of integrated communications campaigns, inclusive of thought leadership, media relations, analyst relations, executive visibility, as well as corporate and product storytelling.

This dynamic leader reports into the Vice President of Global Corporate Marketing as a key member of a close-knit leadership team. This role requires cross-functional collaboration with key stakeholders in product marketing, investor relations and executive communications. This person will inspire a global team of communicators, leading by example in management and career development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and implement integrated corporate communications programs that focus on corporate reputation, thought leadership, technology innovation and executive visibility.

Manage a high-performing team, driving communications strategies from planning through execution and delivery of exceptional results.

Partner with Finance, Legal, Brand & Creative and Product Marketing teams to ensure consistent storytelling and strategic alignment around paid/earned/owned and social content and programs.

Manage relationships with key business media.

Serve as communications counselor and strategist to senior management, acting as a trusted advisor on all-things communications.

Drive and implement a strategic industry analyst program, strengthening brand awareness and advocacy.

Lead the crisis and issues communications strategy with cross-functional collaboration.

Infrequent international travel is expected.

Qualifications

Required:

Bachelor’s degree accompanied by 10+ years of public relations or communications experience.

Ability to interface with stakeholders at all levels, across departments and geographies.

Proven experience managing executive visibility programs for C-Suite leadership for global brand(s).

A highly collaborative team leader with a proven track record of managing internal and agency teams to achieve measurable results.

Experience in creating and managing global, multi-channel communications campaigns for enterprise and consumer technologies.

Polished and confident corporate communications/media relations skills.

An excellent storyteller with stellar writing skills.

Understanding of how to use data & analytics to measure the success of media programs.

Outstanding judgement and creative problem-solving skills; ability to gracefully handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Excellent listening skills and diplomacy.

A clear understanding of the quarterly earnings process and ability to collaborate between Comms, IR and Legal.

Compensation & Benefits Details

An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, ability, knowledge of the job, performance, contribution and results, geographic location, shift, internal and external equity, and business and organizational needs.

The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.

You will be eligible to participate in Western Digital’s Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.
