ASSISTANT GENERAL COUNSEL - INTERNATIONAL SUPPORT

The Assistant General Counsel – International Support will provide support in all areas of international operations, including but not limited to, import/export compliance, researching international operations requirements for expansion and compliance, and interfacing/negotiating with international support vendors.The Assistant General Counsel – International Support will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Company’s export compliance program, including determining the need for registrations and licenses, applying for required licenses, and coordinating with customers’ and governmental export compliance personnel to ensure continued compliance with export control regulations.The Assistant General Counsel – International Support will also oversee all unique international program requirements to include but not limited to coordination of all sponsorship, visas, SPOT, DOCPERS, mobilization support, host nation immigration compliance, and quality control of all employment agreements.Additional duties include being the liaison with corporate functional departments and external vendors and customers to support of international program management and logistics needs. The Assistant General Counsel – International Support will have excellent communication and organization skills with a strong attention to detail. They must ensure appropriate senior management/leadership stays abreast of issues.Essential Duties of the Position:Ensure compliance with all export control regulations, including but not limited to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR)Advise company personnel of export control requirements, including necessary licenses, agreements, and disclosuresImplement processes and procedures to ensure compliance with export regulationsTrain relevant personnel on export compliance and execution of unique requirements for international program operations.Ensure international immigration requirements are met including sponsorship agreements, visas, mobilization processes, and host nation government coordination.Serve as the primary interface focal with prime contractor program authorities and subcontract suppliers for international unique, operations, system sustainment, procurement, personnel, and administrative issues.Serve as the technical point of interface for international program management operations between DRG Corporate leadership, host country sponsor company, mobilization activities (DOCPERS, etc), and other required agencies.Be a resource in the bid and proposal process to ensure relevant costs and timelines with export control and immigration matters are included in bid/proposal.Coordinate with corporate functional departments for personnel support and meeting contractual requirements including any SOFA requirements, foreign country regulations, etc.Other duties as assigned to support the internal legal team and other internal teams.Key Responsibilities and Tasks:Including, but not limited to –Oversee DRG’s export compliance program and complete required license applications and registrations.Monitor updates in applicable laws and regulations that could affect DRG’s international operations.Effectively communicate potential risks/barriers to international expansion while assisting with solutions to mitigate risks and minimize barriers.Interface and negotiate with international support vendors.Conduct/verify research regarding visa matters, tax matters, labor implications, and export compliance issues for any international projects and programs.Manage and update international compliance research databases, ensuring accuracy of information for current and future opportunities.Qualifications:Juris Doctor, or 3L working towards Juris Doctor degree and licensure.For any candidate who does not yet have a JD and/or is not licensed to practice law, the job title would change to Legal Intern – International Support until they obtain their JD and are licensed to practice law in the State of Oklahoma.Experience supporting or managing an export compliance program preferred but not required.Familiarity with ITAR and EAR compliance program requirements.Excellent research and organizational skills.Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Great analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilitiesStrong adaptability and capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.Logical and efficient, with keen attention to detail.Highly self-motivated and directed.Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.In-depth understanding of organizational data flow and its use in management decision making.Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products.Preferred – experience/familiarity with the federal procurement process.*This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities.
