Reporting to the Assistant Vice Chancellor/Chief of Staff, this position provides high-level administrative coordination to the operations of the Office of Diversity and Outreach and high-level support to the office of the Vice Chancellor, Diversity and Outreach.The incumbent serves as a key liaison with the Chancellor's Office, Deans' offices, other campus administrators, faculty, staff, students, representatives of other campuses, UC Office of the President, and members of the public on a wide range of issues, including handling highly confidential materials and situations. The incumbent oversees all office operations and is responsible for developing and administering systems to manage information, projects, and office processes while ensuring compliance with internal controls and practices.The individual in this position functions with a high degree of autonomy, and skillfully assists with matters of a strategic and/or sensitive nature as well as the execution of initiatives and daily operations. The individual manages and responds to a constant stream of requests that arise rapidly and require quick responses.The incumbent also assists in select project planning, development, administration, management, and implementation; and will interpret, monitor, and analyze information. The individual will also write and maintain Standard Operating Procedures/manuals for the department to assist with the operations of the office.The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.The salary range for this position is $75,700 - $123,100 (Annual Rate).Department Description

Bachelor's degree in related area and minimum three years of experience or equivalent experience / training.Five (5) or more years of work experience providing high level administrative support or related work experience.Thorough knowledge of University rules and regulations, processes, protocols and procedures for budget, accounting and fund management, and / or personnel management.Knowledge of a variety of administrative operational activities such as event planning, basic fundraising processes, risk management planning, accounting and payroll regulations and guidelines.Interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising and counseling skills.Solid knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.Ability to use high-level of discretion and maintain all confidentiality.Strong skills in short-term planning, analysis, problem-solving, and customer service.Thorough knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques, and / or human resources policies and procedures for staff and academic employees.Ability to multi-task with demanding timeframes.Small to mid-level project management skills.Attention to detail.Demonstrated excellent time management skills.Preferred Qualifications
