ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSMaintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies/service procedures/standards.Manage the forecasting and budgeting activities and assist/train department leadersPrepare & review monthly account reconciliations and credit card receipts trackingAssist with the month-end close process, including journal entry preparation and analyzing financial informationParticipate in the periodic inventory proceduresPosition coverage for I/T, A/P, General Cashier, Payroll, Income Audit, Labor ManagementTrack contracts and ensure compliance and timely renewalReview and approve expense reports and daily transaction packetsEnsure financial records and transactions are maintained in compliance with GAAP and company policies and proceduresEnsure all financial reporting deadlines are metAnalyze business operations including revenue and expenditure trends, financial commitments and internal process steps and recommend new processes or solutions to business and financial problemsActively participate in the departmental colleague engagement effortsFollow all safety policies and maintain a safe work environmentAdministration and Contact Person for merchant services identifying and resolving variancesHandling billing queries, issues and disputes, including credit card inquiries.Assist in the integration of hotel and accounting technology systems including software applications, current and futureProvide daily I/T helpdesk coverageCoach and train other employees in ensuring Accor policies and procedures are adhered to at all timesParticipate in internal and external audits as requiredMaintain positive guest relations at all times.Maintain Computer Security protocolsConference Services, Front Office and Food and Beverage departments.Assist with other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

University/College Degree in Business Finance/Accounting or a relevant field of work or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experiencePrevious Accounting and/or Hotel experience requiredSelf-starter with excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skillsAbility to work cohesively as part of a team, provide engaging service and possess problem solving abilitiesProficiency in Microsoft Office and most particularly Excel advanced skillsrequiredPrior experience with accounting systems and POS (Sun, Opera, Silverware, CORA)Excellent administrative, interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skillsSelf-motivating with a high degree of analytical ability and confidentialityWilling to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities and tasksCompute basic mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers).Ability to:perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.prioritize, organize and follow up.be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgement.follow directions thoroughly.understand guest's service needs.work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team.work with minimal supervision.maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
