Impact
As a Privacy Counsel at Shipt, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our company’s reputation and ensuring that our products and services comply with key US privacy laws, including CCPA, CPRA, VPPA, COPPA, and TCPA. Your primary responsibility will be to provide expert legal advice on privacy-related matters, ensuring that privacy considerations are embedded into our product development processes from the outset.
You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and other key stakeholders to influence and implement privacy-by-design strategies, ensuring our products not only meet legal requirements but also uphold the highest standards of user trust and data protection. Additionally, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining our privacy policies, conducting risk assessments, and leading training sessions to promote a culture of privacy awareness across the organization.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful
Expertise in Privacy Law: You possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited US law school and have 3+ years of experience in privacy law, particularly in the ad tech and product advising sectors.Knowledge of US Privacy Regulations: You have a strong understanding of CCPA, CPRA, HIPAA, VPPA, COPPA, TCPA, and other relevant privacy laws and regulations.Ad Tech Experience: You have experience working with ad tech platforms, data management, and digital advertising technologies.Collaboration Skills: You are skilled at working cross-functionally and influencing teams to prioritize privacy in product development and business operations.Training and Communication: You excel at developing and delivering training sessions, ensuring that team members understand and comply with privacy regulations.Proactive and Strategic: You are driven, proactive, and able to develop and implement strategies that enhance the company’s privacy posture while supporting business innovation.
Work Arrangement
Shipt considers candidates located near a Shipt office or workspace in Birmingham, San Francisco, or Minneapolis to be hybrid, which means that they have the flexibility to work from home (with leader approval) or at a Shipt office in order to facilitate the ability to innovate, collaborate, and spark team connections. In-office expectations will vary by role and leader. Certain roles may require in-office presence on a full-time basis. $110,421-$220,842
All other locations:
$92,036-$184,071
