Description:The Director of Maintenance Operations provides leadership and management of the Pentastar Aviation Maintenance, Avionics and Interior Departments and all functions performed under its umbrella. The incumbent is directly accountable to ensure that plans, programs, policies and procedures are in place to guarantee compliance with regulatory and company requirements. This person ensures company and departmental goals and objectives, including fiscal performance are achieved and that employee and customer satisfaction is realized while maintaining adherence to all safety standards. The position reports to the VP of Maintenance Operations and Advisory Services and serves in the following regulated capacities:

FAR 145.151 Accountable Manager for Pentastar’s FAR 145 Repair Station Operations

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides leadership and management for air carrier maintenance operations (including sub-base locations), repair station maintenance operations, avionics system design and certification operations, and interior refurbishment.

Sets and measures performance standards and ensures quality and conformance to specifications set by the company and/or regulatory authority.

Collaborates with others and develops processes to maximize financial performance and measure production efficiency.

Provide feedback and advice to the maintenance management team concerning issues and opportunities related to the maintenance organization.

Develops and implements strategic and tactical plans, goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards for Maintenance activities.

Responsible for all aspects of the staff; approves selection of staff; training plans and related expense, oversees staff in work procedures; administers employee recognition and discipline as appropriate or required, ensures a continued focus on employee satisfaction and customer service excellence.

Responds to and resolves customer and maintenance staff issues expeditiously and proactively works across all departments to ensure that functional objectives are met for production, procurement, quality control, logistics and administrative functions.

Maintains a strong leadership focus on customer satisfaction.

Promotes and facilitates continuous organizational improvement efforts through safety management principles and observance of industry best practices such as IS-BAO and ARG/US standards.

Remains abreast of regulatory and industry developments as they pertain to aircraft maintenance and avionics techniques.

Ensures that assigned personnel adhere to all FAA, Health Safety and Environmental, safety, and security procedures as required by applicable regulations and company standards.

Prepares a variety of written correspondence and periodic and special reports regarding work planned and performed.

Requirements:Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree required with coursework in Engineering or a related field highly desired.

Previous FAA certification as a Systems and Equipment DER is highly desired; thorough working knowledge of FAA supplemental type certification procedures is required.

5 to 10 years experience in MRO and aircraft operations and production management with comparable business aircraft operations.

Current and valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License required.

Proficient using various software programs including Word, Excel, and Outlook required.

Experience with Corridor MRO and project management software highly desired.

Thorough working knowledge of all applicable regulatory requirements required.

Must meet the management qualifications for a Director of Maintenance as set forth under FAR 119.71(e) for large, turbine powered, transport category aircraft operations
