Huitt-Zollars has a great full-time opportunity for a Vice President - Interior Design at our Houston Downtown office. In this role, you will be the lead Principal for Interior Design projects. The successful candidate will need to be a Licensed Architect or NCIDQ Certified Professional with 15+ years of professional experience in interior architecture design. They will have very good communication and leadership skills, and the ability to ensure exceptional project delivery for clients.Location:

Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Interior DesignDuties:Function as a Lead Principal-in-charge and as a Senior Project Manager on key projectsAct as primary contact for the client and is responsible for overall project managementMaintains project budgets and schedules while meeting client needs, business objectives and design guidelinesIdentify contacts/clients/opportunities for new workTrain/mentor staff and review work for quality assuranceGrow the Interiors groupEnsure the Project Manager and/or Project Teams have the resources necessary to meet scheduling and budget commitments on projectsInterface daily with clients, develop proposals, negotiate scopes and fees, ensure timely billing and collections and prepare change orders.Strategic planning of Interiors marketingPlan, direct, and monitor all aspects of projects with a high degree of technical complexityResponsible for assigned portion of office sales goalsPrepare project work plan and schedule for projectsManage the preparation of design and construction drawingsDirect a staff with varied levels of experience and expertiseProvide technically sound designs for our clientsEnsure quality controls measures are being adhered to on project deliveryInitiate and lead kickoff calls or high-level design calls with client in addition to preparing monthly forecasting and client cost estimates when appropriateAssist market sector teams in preparing proposals, calling on new and prospective clients, and participating in new project presentations as requested.Key Responsibilities:Takes active steps in the pursuit of winning new business or additional opportunities with existing clients and may be responsible for a stated portion of office sales goal. Assists and/or leads team in pursuit of new work (repeat work, SOQ and Proposals). Develops and/or executes project Win strategy.Successfully and consistently functions as Lead Principal-in-Charge for their designated Practice Area in geographic market.Competent, knowledgeable, service leader in the market(s) they service.Understands and follows HZ QMS and Quality initiatives. Ensures quality control measures are being adhered to on projects and daily operations.Prepares and follows comprehensive Project Framework Instructions and proper work planning for a project. Ensures proper staff is assigned and utilized on their projects.Reviews project reports and performance metrics to track project progress and budget. Leads successful projects (profit, on-schedule, quality, satisfied client). Verifies client satisfaction routinely and shares feedback with team.Proactively works with PM to strategize resolving issues that impact project performance. Reviews progress with PM at least monthly (including & completes vs. % spent) and that PM is adhering to weekly rhythm.Successfully contributes to the overall profitability and financial performance on projects.Oversees staff deliverables and production assigned to their projects to ensure client, legal, and company requirements are met.Role Competencies:Sharing Information:
