ShiftBatavia, IL PlantThe Site Manager has responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the Batavia facility. This individual is responsible for corporate objectives being met and maintained in such areas as productivity, product delivery, inventory management, regulatory compliance, facility maintenance, employee health and safety, budgeting, cost containment, purchasing, and quality.DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES:Inform all site personnel of corporate objectives and develop plans and processes to meet company goals.Identify problems, create, and execute initiatives that improve day-to-day performance of the site.Promote effective company safety programs and compliance with environmental regulations at the site.Set continuous improvement and cost efficiency goals and priorities at the site.Oversee the execution of manufacturing schedules based on sales requirements and plant capacity (including labor).Responsible for the efficient and safe operation of production to minimize costs and maximize profitability.Responsible for ensuring processes and procedures are in place to maintain ISO certification.Oversee site capital budget process, review major projects, and lead as required.Oversee the hiring, development, retention, and performance of staff.Maintain adequate levels of raw materials and finished goods to ensure that production schedules and customer requirements are met.Develop and monitor spending budgets for the facility.Monitor delivery performance.Responsible for adherence to safety rules by all direct reports, promoting safe work practices, coaching and any necessary safety training required in addition to that provided by the corporate safety trainer. Also is responsible for stopping and reporting any safety violations when observed throughout the facility.Interview, hire and terminate employees, as necessary.Conduct performance reviews on a semi-annual basis.Participate in quality system audits for compliance with ISO and quality standards.Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:Education level strongly preferred: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university. A degree is preferred to be in a Science related field such as Chemistry, Technology or Engineering. MBA helpful but not required.Experience Preferred: Seven to ten years progressive responsibility in production management.Leadership capabilities with the ability to lead by example.Exemplify core values: Integrity, Loyalty, Passion, Commitment, and Respect.Works well in a team environment.Excellent team building and communications skills.Superb written and verbal communication skills.Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook), ERP system and other office machinery.Understanding of NFPA, EPA, emissions, and OSHA regulations.Travel up to 10% of the time.WORK ENVIRONMENT:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk and/or hear, stand, and/or walk, use hands to finger, handle or touch objects or controls and move from place to place. The employee is regularly required to sit, balance, stoop, and occasionally reach above shoulders. The employee occasionally must use foot/feet to operate machinery, climb or balance and reach above the shoulders. The employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 65 lbs.Personal Protection Equipment is required during various processes in the production facility.
