Medical Informatics Analyst, Associate

Your RoleThe rating model team supports large group pricing through model programming, data validation and general model support for users. The Medical Informatics Analyst will report to the Actuary Manager. In this role you will execute the monthly data load process to collect and validate data from multiple sources into the rating model database and refresh the rating factor dashboard. You will execute batch runs to produce rating model output on the entire book of business. You will assist in implementing rating model changes including rating methodology changes, data enhancements, state and federal legislation, in addition to communicating current and proposed rating methodologies amongst stakeholders.Your WorkIn this role, you will:Conduct independent analysis of low complexity under moderate supervision and guidanceDevelop documentation and create and execute workplans for analyses of low complexityConduct analysis of moderate complexity by following explicit instructions provided by Medical Informatics Analyst II/III/IV/V, supervisor or managerSupport the development of reports and analyses by validating, testing, and documenting analytical processes and completing other defined, related tasksCreate and distribute previously established, routine reports to multiple departmentsTroubleshoot and resolve user issues and update existing toolsIdentify and resolve gaps in process efficiency and key controlsTest model changesReconcile monthly dataYour Knowledge and ExperienceRequires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experienceRequires 0-2 years of prior relevant experienceRequires Intermediate Excel skillsSQL relational database experience preferred, with further preference for T-SQLVBA programming for Excel and experience using ADO to retrieve and manipulate datasets preferredSAS programming experience preferredProficiency in Python and PowerBI is preferredPay Range:The pay range for this role is: $31.73 to $44.41 for California.Note:Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
