How will you make an impact?

The Sr. Director, Procurement – (Chromatography & Mass Spectroscopy Division) is the global leader responsible for developing and driving the Procurement vision. The individual will be a key partner to the divisional operations leader with a focus on strategy, execution, and implementation. This position will facilitate the development and execution of long-term strategies that will optimize quality, cycle/response time, reduce risk, and total cost.

What will you do?

Establish and implement short and long-term goals, strategic plans, policies, and procedures for the Division aligned with the Group performance metrics, savings targets, quality, service, cost, and innovation.

Partner with Category Managers, R&D, and Engineering to deliver annual value improvements and drive a competitive advantage.

Collaborate with Supply Chain to build demand plans for supplier partners.

Responsible for coordinating business projects and programs (e.g., M&A integration, make or buy, vendor transition, CSR), monitoring execution, and communicating results to senior leaders.

Engage with Supplier Partners, ensuring capacity to meet demand and work with Category Management to close gaps.

Use a ‘scouting approach’ to influence R&D and Commercial partners earlier in the NPI process, on the use of preferred suppliers.

Serve as the point of contact for Procurement within the Division and work with Categories to resolve issues.

Consolidate, analyze, and report on divisional procurement metrics for business reviews.

Provide division input to category strategies (Global, Group-specific) and support implementation of aligned strategies.

Work with supplier leadership (Vice President, General Managers, President, Functional and Operations Leaders) to solve business problems and assure alignment with Thermo Fisher objectives.

Mentor staff through coaching and development plans to address individual areas of improvement.

Implement talent initiatives to improve Employee Involvement Survey results.

What will you need?

A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain/Materials Management, Business Logistics or a related area; MBA or equivalent experience preferred.

15 plus years of procurement experience with at least 7 years as a people manager.

High level of proficiency with core Procurement skills (negotiation, technical sourcing).

Strong influencing skills with the ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and understand the differing needs of business leaders.

Strong business knowledge.

Motivational leader, able to develop and cultivate strong collaboration and improve overall performance of the team.

Committed leader with a focus on identifying root causes and implementing lasting solutions.
