Central Coast California . The Upper Division campus (Grades 9-12) is located in Pebble Beach. The Lower/Middle Campus (Grades PK-8) is in nearby Carmel-by-the-Sea. Stevenson is a mission driven school that aims to help students shape joyful lives while instilling a passion for learning and achievement to prepare them for success in school and beyond.Stevenson School is seeking a Counselor to work with students in Grades 9-12 on a contract basis, with immediate start. In this independent contractor role, the counselor will support the counseling office by providing on-site one-on-one counseling services to students as needed.The ideal candidate will be an experienced and effective clinician with their own practice and demonstrated expertise in social-emotional wellness within this age group. The successful candidate will additionally present a positive, flexible, and helpful attitude. The ability to carve time out of the counselor’s own private practice schedule to be available to Stevenson with some regularity will be a priority consideration.Responsibilities Include:

Employ a variety of therapeutic approaches (CBT, DBT, SFT) as well as talk therapy, mindfulness exercises, and coping strategies based on student needs.Provide a supportive, empathetic, and safe space for students to share and receive support to work on their area(s) of need.Effectively provide crisis management by addressing immediate safety concerns.Support students in the development of practical skills and techniques to address non-emergent, ongoing issues.Provide confidentiality and develop trusting relationships with students while meeting disclosure requirements, guidelines, and protocols to ensure student safety.Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards.Maintain detailed and accurate records of counseling sessions.Required Qualifications:

Advanced degree, LMHS, MA, MSW, or PhD in counseling.Licensure in marriage and family therapy, clinical psychology or clinical social work.Current certification to practice in the state of California.Minimum of three years post-masters clinical work offering direct psychotherapy services to adolescents and families.Significant experience with children and adolescent population.Highest level of professionalism and commitment to confidentiality.Preferred Qualifications:
