Room To Grow Preschool, a program of Catholic Charities of Fairfield County, is in search of a Assistant Director. Room To Grow Preschool is a state-licensed and NAEYC-accredited child care program committed to providing high-quality early childhood education and care for children ages 2.8 to 6 years old. We prioritize a nurturing and inclusive environment where children can thrive and reach their full potential.

As the Assistant Director of Room To Grow Preschool, you will play a pivotal role in the overall management and administration of our program. You will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating program services, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and providing leadership and supervision to our dedicated staff.

Key Responsibilities:

In collaboration with the Director, you will:

Oversee the overall management and daily operation of Room To Grow Preschool.

Ensure compliance with OEC licensing, NAEYC accreditation, Norwalk local health regulations, Fire Marshal guidelines, and building management standards.

Manage payroll, OEC registry, and purchasing of supplies and materials.

Conduct hiring, interviews, and performance appraisals for staff.

Supervise staff, conduct regular meetings, and facilitate school readiness meetings.

Coordinate with Catholic Charities/PQI and manage various grants, including the School Readiness Grant.

Oversee and support administrative staff in maintaining children's files, organizing open houses and parent conferences, and scheduling classroom/staff assignments.

Ensure effective communication with staff, parents, and community liaisons, and provide support as needed.

Manage grant reporting documents, facilitate classroom observations, and support parent communication and engagement efforts.

Coordinate donation initiatives to support the preschool's mission and goals.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required.

Minimum of five (5) years of administrative experience in a child-care setting.

Knowledge and experience in working with diverse populations.

Strong computer skills required.

Pay: $68,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
