Position Overview

The Director of Compliance & Risk is responsible for the daily operations of the Compliance and Risk Management needs of the agency. This includes ensuring compliance is understood, reviewed, and maintained agency wide and risk is identified, communicated, tracked, and responded to. The Director of Compliance & Risk will report directly to the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO). In addition, the director is responsible for making and presenting recommendations for risk mitigation to senior management and various stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

Preparing and presenting clear and concise reports to the CCO that are solution focused relaying details of discovery, recommendations for resolve (where appropriate), how the department is able to assist in the resolve, and plans for reassessment.

Coordinating efforts related to reviews and examinations.

Coordinating internal compliance review and monitoring activities, including periodic reviews of departments.

Review all staff written reports for complete identification of risks including fair, unbiased, and accurate representation of the information.

Ensure all identified risks are tracked, communicated, and responded to in a timely manner.

Responsible for keeping CCO informed as to departmental operations including preparing reports for the CCO associated with such.

Responsible for overall leadership and supervision of staff including coordinating and/or conducting staff training and development, hiring and selection of staff, performance evaluation, directing and assigning work, approving timecards and time off requests, and makes recommendations for other personnel actions including terminations, promotion and demotions.

Assesses agency services, policies and procedures. Analyzes and interprets data to measure short-term and long-term objectives and outcomes.

Ensures needed data is collected in timely manner, reports are distributed timely.

Ensures programmatic plans collaborate with all appropriate departments with a focus on continuous improvement.

Ensures all types of data collections are developed and maintained based on appropriate Risk/Compliance standards and expectations.

Conducts and participates in trainings as needed to provide understanding of reporting needs and agency operations.

Assists in monitoring agency compliance with regulatory and COA best practice standards and requirements.

Adheres to agency policies and procedures; follows and supports agency mission, vision and values.

Supports the Privacy Officer through reviewing, tracking, and preparing the appropriate reports related to HIPAA violations.

Participates and runs associated committees to communicate, manage, and track compliance and risk matters.

Represents the agency and liaisons with various stakeholders associated with compliance and risk management.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Preferred Masters degree in business, education, human services or related field; minimum of an Associates degree in business, education, human services or related field is required.

Minimum 6-8 years of experience in quality improvement field, child welfare field, or compliance field is required.

Leadership and management experience required.

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment in a fast paced and energetic culture.

Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with extreme discretion.

Must have a valid driver's license.

Ability to work with an economically and culturally diverse population.

$90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
