The
Associate Athletics Director for External Operations
serves on the executive staff of the Athletics Department. The position is responsible for ensuring the maximization of all external efforts, including but not limited to marketing and promotions, sports information, corporate partnerships, and attendance/ticketing. The successful candidate will also ensure that external operations are in compliance with NCAA and university rules and regulations. Additionally, this role will build long-term relationships with current and former student-athletes alongside other alumni, donors, and supporters of WSU Athletics.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field.
Minimum of 4 years’ related work experience with at least 2 years in Intercollegiate Athletics.
Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in related field.
Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree
Essential Functions and percent of time:60 % – Supervision and oversight of the following areas:
Sports Information
Annual Giving
Marketing & Promotions
Corporate Partnerships
Ticketing
Spirit Unit
This includes coordinated strategic planning for all of these areas.
20 % – Collaborate with campus organizations, development and marketing departments
Create donor and marketing centered strategies.
Collaborate with Director of Club Sports in regard to spirit unit.
20 % – Plan and attend donor/fundraising events
Oversee planning of all appropriate marketing, friend/fundraising events including golf outings, dinners, receptions, games, etc.
Attend these special events.
