The Deputy Director works in partnership with the Executive Director to manage the organization and grow its power to advance climate justice in New Hampshire. The Deputy Director will co-lead fundraising and lead operations for both 350NH and 350NH Action, our 501c4 sister organization.The 350NH Deputy Director is responsible for:Organizational Management

Support organizational strategy development, strategic planning, assessment and review as whole team and alongside Executive Director.Co-manage/support staff retreat planning 2-3 times per year.Manage 1-2 full-time organizers.Manage human resources policies and needs.Work with the Executive Director to develop and implement an annual fundraising plan to raise $650-750K in 2025 and to continue to increase 350NH’s operating budget over the next 3-5 years.Manage major donor fundraising. Nurture existing relationships between donors and 350NH and make bi-annual asks for support. Retain and increase current donor support and work with staff and board to bring in new donors.Manage 350NH’s annual fundraising campaign (two appeals minimum/year between c3 and c4 entities) and monthly sustaining membership goals.Support the Executive Director in grant fundraising.

Financial Management & Legal Compliance

Create and manage 350NH and 350NH Action’s budgets and work with the Executive Director to make fiscally responsible spending decisions.Work with the bookkeeper and board treasurer to keep accurate records, approve invoices and review profit & loss detail monthly.Ensure that all election reporting (independent expenditure and FEC reports) are filed accurately and by the deadline.

Required Skills & Qualifications:Note: Please apply if you feel you meet at least 2/3rds of these qualifications.At least 1-2 years of relevant program or organizational management experience, with experience managing staff.Enthusiasm for fundraising with demonstrable track record of raising money for a nonprofit organization through individual and foundation fundraising preferred.Strong writing skills; grant writing experience preferred.Strong interpersonal skills for talking with donors and supporters.Highly organized/detail-oriented.Demonstrated ability to effectively manage own workload; highly self-directed and driven.Believes in the strategic value of nonviolent direct action.Good listener; collaborative, not a domineering leader.Ability to think big and creatively when strategizing.Experience and ease discussing climate justice and our mission with a wide variety of people.Being or having been engaged in anti-racism and anti-oppression training.Willingness to learn new technology.Team player – cooperative, communicative, and willing to support fellow team members.Access to the internet.Desired Skills & Qualifications:Experience and willingness to speak at public events.Access to a car/driver’s license.Experience working with communities most impacted by the climate crisis, with a particular eye for those most impacted by racial & economic injustice, two issues that intersect deeply with the climate crisis.Experience working in coalition and building organizational partnerships across issues and differences.Physical Demands & Working Conditions:350NH currently has access to a coworking space in Dover, NH and limited use of office space in Concord, NH. Employees can choose to work from home or at the office. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to read, speak, and use a computer keyboard and monitor. This position requires occasional travel to meetings and conferences. Some evening meetings and/or weekend events will be required. Mid NovemberCompensation : 350NH offers a competitive salary based on an equitable pay scale system. Estimate between $60,000 – $64,800.Benefits : 4 weeks of flexible time off, flexible hours, health including dental and vision stipend.Location : Must live in or be willing to relocate to New Hampshire. Relocation assistance is negotiable.
