SummaryThe Expediter is responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of orders from the waiters to the kitchen.

Essential Job Functions

Make service faster and better to help enhance our quality and reputation.

Ensure the efficient flow of orders from the waiters to the kitchen.

Ensure orders are being prepared with the correct priority.

Assist in the final preparation of dishes.

Check dishes before delivery for accuracy, presentation and temperature.

Deliver orders to maintain fast service.

Inspect the premises according to quality and sanitation standards and assist in cleaning.

Transfer important information between the kitchen and the wait staff (e.g. when a customer has a particular request).

Handle complaints from clients to preserve the restaurant’s reputation.

Responsible for assisting all team members in organization of kitchen items, to include, dry goods, kitchen equipment, storage containers, cleaning supplies and proper rotation and organization of all food deliveries.

Understanding of health and safety rules in a restaurant.

Dexterity in using kitchen equipment or utensils and carry heavy trays.

Excellent communication skills.

Outstanding coordination and multi-tasking abilities.

A customer-oriented approach.

Great physical endurance.

Qualifications:• High school diploma; Higher degree in hospitality or relevant field will be appreciated.

Supervision Given and ReceivedGiven: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.Received: Works under direct supervision of the Chef de Cuisine. Tasks are assigned according to specific procedures, and work is checked frequently. Instruction, advice and assistance are readily available.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Ability to reach, crouch, kneel, smell, taste, stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time.

Regularly work in wet, hot and humid conditions for extended periods of time and may be required to walk on slippery and uneven surfaces.

Must be able to frequently lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance.
