DIRECTOR OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS (Remote - Worldwide), CARB-XCARB-X is seeking a dynamic Director of External Affairs to join our dedicated team. Working under the guidance of our Chief of External Affairs, this role will be instrumental to ensure the long-term sustainability of CARB-X and strengthen the antibacterial R&D ecosystem. Your primary responsibilities will include nurturing existing partnerships and forging new ones with government bodies, private foundations, experts, and other organizations active in the global fight against drug-resistant bacterial infections, including in low- and middle-income countries. You will also play a critical role in identifying and pursuing new funding opportunities, as well as conducting thorough research to keep abreast of the latest trends and developments in global health and pharmaceutical R&D. Additionally, you will be expected to represent CARB-X at international forums, effectively communicating our mission and advocating for support. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience in external engagement, a strategic mindset, and a deep understanding of the global health funding ecosystem, particularly in the realms of research and development and access to medicines, vaccines, and diagnostics.The position can be entirely virtual, but the successful candidate must be able to work (at least partially) in ET and CET time zones.Required Skills

Bachelor's degree with 10+ years of relevant work experienceExpertise in cultivating and maintaining partnerships with diverse stakeholdersDemonstrated success in identifying and securing funding opportunities and/or advocating effectively for global health and/or global development initiativesCompetence in analyzing data and conducting actionable research on policy trends and developmentsProficiency in managing and completing multiple projects simultaneously and independentlyOutstanding interpersonal skillsExceptional verbal and written communication abilitiesAvailability to travel (an expected average of 2-4 days per month)Preferred Skills
