Job DescriptionThis position is within the Engineering Solutions Group at XP Power. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing custom power delivery products that include AC/DC, DC/DC, high power, low power, high voltage, and low voltage switch mode power supplies.The Engineering Solutions Group features a collaborative environment with creative, smart people and cutting-edge technologies. Design of AC/DC, DC/DC switch mode power supplies utilizing various topologies.Take products from concept to volume production while ensuring that it meets performance specifications, schedule, cost & reliability targets.Collaborate with the cross-functional team (PCB layout, Mechanical engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Test and Quality engineering) to ensure that design meets all DfX requirements.Select raw materials, components and suppliers based on product performance specifications, reliability and regulatory requirements.Lead research and development activities of new technologies.Perform cost analysis and produce cost estimates for new design concepts.Attend customer calls to collect project requirements and provide design status updates.Act as a subject matter expert in peer reviews, providing feedback and guidance as needed.Review product designs for compliance with engineering principles, company procedures, safety, and other agency requirements.Perform circuit simulations, DFMEA, component stress analysis, reliability prediction calculations, Design Verification Testing and write technical reports.Prepare documentation for product release.Support RMA group with root causes analysis.Participate in the recruitment process.Mentor junior engineers.Perform other duties and responsibilities when required.
