Meta seeks a highly motivated Associate General Counsel who is enthusiastic about technology and its potential for positive impact in peoples’ lives to join as a product counsel on Meta’s Content, Safety, and Integrity Legal team. This role will focus on supporting product and policy work related to the company’s integrity priorities. It will require significant cross-functional collaboration with product, engineering, policy, operations, and business teams, as well as other legal subject matter experts. This is an opportunity to work on novel issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment, as we build and scale for our global community.Associate General Counsel, Product Responsibilities
Serve as primary legal partner for several product and policy teams working on integrity and safety issues for several priority product areas, such as Generative AI.Lead consensus building across legal and coordinate legal advice across complex and multifaceted legal issues such as data protection and privacy, intermediary liability, consumer protection, security, and other global legal frameworks.Review global products, features, platforms and initiatives to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies for products across multiple jurisdictions.Coordinate with public policy, communications, product management, engineering, product marketing, trust and safety, and other cross-functional teams on external communications, policy development, and product development and launches.Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. state bar.8+ years of law firm and/or in-house experience.Experience with product or regulatory counseling related to areas of law such as safety, consumer protection, privacy, data security, and intellectual property law.Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a product counseling role building and supporting products.Prior in-house experience at a technology company.Experience working on integrity, trust and safety, or other related topics.Experience with global regulatory compliance work in a similar role.Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
