Senior Software Engineer

on the

Connexity Marketplace Engineering Team , you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing our marketplace platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-impact features, enhance system performance, and drive technical excellence. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a passion for creating scalable and reliable software solutions.Responsibilities:

Design and Development:

Lead the design and implementation of complex features and components for the Connexity marketplace platform. Ensure high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code.System Optimization:

Analyze and optimize system performance to handle large-scale data and high-traffic loads. Implement improvements to enhance overall system efficiency and reliability.Collaboration:

Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to understand requirements and deliver innovative solutions that meet business objectives.Technical Leadership:

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Promote best practices in coding, testing, and software design.Code Review:

Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, quality, and security practices.Troubleshooting:

Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues. Implement solutions to prevent future occurrences.Innovation:

Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies. Propose and implement new technologies and methodologies to improve our marketplace platform.Minimum Requirements:

Experience:

5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on building and scaling marketplace or e-commerce platforms.Technical Skills:

Proficiency in Java, Python, SQL. Experience with database management, cloud services, and microservices architecture.Problem-Solving:

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges and propose effective solutions.Collaboration:

Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.Leadership:

Demonstrated experience in leading technical projects and mentoring junior engineers.Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Kubernetes, MySQL, BigTable, BigQuery, Oracle, Hadoop, Beam, Dataflow, Google PubSub, Kafka.Experience with programmatic management of digital ad platforms (e.g. Google Ads, Bing Ads, Facebook Ads, etc) is a plus.Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and software development life cycle (SDLC) best practices.Headquartered in Santa Monica, the company operates sites and business services in the US, UK, EMEA, and APAC. The pay offered may vary depending on several factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience (Level I, II, III). Compensation packages include a variety of perks such as equity, competitive 401(k) match, rich benefits, etc.This position is a hybrid role, with 1-2 days based in the Santa Monica office.
