Adobe seeks an upbeat, motivated, high-EQ attorney to join the Adobe Experience Cloud product legal team to provide legal advice and guidance related to artificial intelligence and machine learning (AI/ML) to Adobe’s product and business teams. This role will involve strategic counseling and guidance in a fast-paced environment. This full-time position will be based in our San Jose, CA, San Francisco, CA, or New York, NY office.What you'll do
Be part of the team that supports innovative technology and teams with respect to AI/ML.Build positive relationships and deliver practical legal advice and guidance to legal, product, engineering, and business teams regarding AI/ML, that align with company policies and mitigate potential risks.Work on and take ownership of process related tasks, such as updates to forms, drafting templates, and maintaining knowledge resources.Provide frontline assistance to product legal and sales legal teams in understanding emerging AI/ML issues as applied to Adobe Experience Cloud products, licensing metrics, and Adobe AI/ML priorities.Stay on top of legal and industry developments associated with AI/ML, including emerging regulation, privacy legislation, litigation, and software licensing.What you need to succeed
J.D. from an accredited law school and membership in good standing in at least one state bar with a minimum of 8+ years of relevant legal experience (e.g., software product development, intellectual property, data protection and privacy), with in-house experience preferred.Knowledge of intellectual property issues as they apply to the development and licensing of datasets used to train AI models and the input/output to generative AI products and services.Strong interest and/or knowledge of new and emerging artificial intelligence technologies, such as large language models and hybrid AI.Intellectual curiosity and/or knowledge about the emerging regulatory developments affecting AI/ML technologies.Flexibility to work with cross-functional teams in time zones other than where the position is based and optimally handling multiple priorities.Highly effective interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, to enable the distillation of complex legal issues into plain English, with an understanding that more is not always better.Creative problem-solving capabilities, good business instincts, and the ability to provide both practical and theoretical legal advice when presented with a novel issue.Proven ability to work independently with minimal direction in a fast-paced environment.Initiative in client engagement to add value to client interactions.Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $136,500 -- $261,000 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans.
