It is required that the candidate serve the mission of Extending the Healing Ministry of Christ and demonstrate proficiency in the AdventHealth executive leadership competencies.We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) position for AdventHealth Gordon and AdventHealth Murray in Georgia.GENERAL SUMMARY:Reporting to the market Chief Executive Officer, the CMO represents the medical leadership for both hospitals—AdventHealth Gordon and AdventHealth Murray, their staff, patients, and the community. The performance of the CMO sets the stage and example for all aspects of the delivery of medical services.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Resource Management Services:The CMO will support the goals of resource management.Identify and participate in resource management strategies to successfully achieve the length of stay and reduction in inappropriate use of hospital resources.Analyze and interpret data to evaluate practice patterns and resource utilization of admitting physicians within targeted DRGs.Work with the hospital’s “Best Practice Team” to identify “best practices” parameters for physician performance within the hospital.Lead and/or facilitate interdisciplinary resource management teams in an effort to improve resource consumption.Assist medical staff to develop practice guidelines in response to utilization goals and resource consumption.Coordinate medical staff compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) and Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP) accreditation survey processes.Function as a liaison between administration and the medical staff on medical administrative issues.Medical Staff Education:The CMO will participate with the hospital’s co-Chief Medical Officer in providing education to the medical staff in support of the goals of the hospital.Develop and provide orientation regarding resource management, performance improvements, and practice patterns and data management to the medical staff.Participate in communication to the medical staff of the physician profiling data.Communicate best practice parameters to the medical staff through physician profiling data.Serve as physician champion and assist in education of physicians regarding iConnect and other programs.Clinical Informatics:The CMO will support the goals of the Clinical Informatics Service (CIS) functions as a direct liaison to the medical staff and CIS staff.Participate in communication to the medical staff regarding physician Dashboard data.Communicate best practice parameters pertaining to Meaningful Use goals to the medical staff.Perform Leapfrog testing annually coordinated by the Clinical Informatics Team and Performance Improvement team.Serve as physician champion and assist in education of physicians regarding iConnect.Serve as champion and liaison for all aspects of the compliant documentation program.The CMO shall support the peer review activities of the health care facility and/or the medical staff.Performance Improvement:Attend the pre-planning Performance Improvement Committee meetings.Serve as the Performance Improvement Committee Chair and lead the Performance Improvement Committee scheduled meetings.Provide a Performance Improvement update to the medical staff on an ongoing basis.Function as a consultant for the medical staff as requested related to Performance Improvement Initiatives.Assist/participate with the TJC Intra Cycle Monitoring process.Coordinate medical staff compliance with TJC accreditation standards.Work with the Facility Best Practice Team to identify “best practice” parameters for physician performance.Executive Responsibilities:CMO will be invited to attend all meetings involving the Gordon Hospital Administrative Council and/or any meeting deemed appropriate by Gordon Hospital’s CEO.QualificationsEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSURE REQUIRED:MD or DOLicensed physician with clinical background (board certified while in clinical practice)5 years’ experience with administrative responsibility in healthcare leadershipActive Georgia medical licensureBLSEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND LICENSURE PREFERRED:Experience on Medical Executive CommitteeExperience in Clinic Practice ManagementIf this position sounds like a great match for your skills set and experience, please apply online now!
