ABOUT THE JOB:

The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) will lead the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis processes to support strategic decision-making. This role will be responsible for providing key insights and recommendations to drive the company's financial performance and growth. The Director of FP&A will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with the company's financial goals and objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Partner with senior leadership to enhance financial metrics to facilitate achievement of long-term financial and operational plans and strategies.

Direct the annual budgeting process, including the development of budget guidelines, timelines, and templates.

Direct the monthly forecasting process, including monitoring and reporting on forecast variances, providing actionable insights and recommendations.

Collaborate with department heads to create budgets and forecasts that align with strategic objectives.

Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting and scenario planning.

Lead initiatives to refine and enhance forecasting processes to create efficiencies.

Provide regular updates to senior management on financial forecasts, highlighting key trends and potential risks.

Analyze financial performance, identifying key drivers of variance and opportunities for improvement.

Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior leadership.

Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and business decisions.

Provide financial insights and recommendations to support growth initiatives, cost management, and capital allocation.

Participate in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) analysis, due diligence, and integration planning.

Lead and mentor the FP&A team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.

Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary tools, skills, and knowledge to succeed.

Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing within the Finance team and across the organization.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform other related tasks assigned.

Participate in ad hoc projects as assigned by the Controller, the CFO or others from the leadership team.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Director of FP&A oversees the FP&A team, and directly supervises the Manager of FP&A.

INTERPERSONAL CONTACTS:

Types of interactions are in-person discussions and meetings, phone calls, and emails.

Daily interaction with other members of the finance team, operations and senior management.

Moderate interaction with Human Resources.

Interaction with external auditors.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.

Excellent financial modeling skills, including proficiency in Excel and financial planning software.

Superior communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively interact with senior leadership.

Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on mentoring and developing talent.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Experience in the application of GAAP and an understanding of internal controls.

Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, including supervisory experience.

Proven track record of managing complex budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes.

Experience in a publicly traded company environment is preferred.

Strong background in manufacturing, production or a related industry is preferred.

Experience working with SAP or other major enterprise-wide application.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
