Position Summary
The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Sourcing at BBB Industries is a key executive role responsible for leading global strategic sourcing, purchasing, and supplier development activities. This position oversees a total purchasing volume and manages purchasing teams located across the US, Mexico, Asia, and functionally in Europe. The SVP will establish and execute a comprehensive purchasing strategy aimed at cost reduction, supply chain risk management, and supplier base consolidation, with a strong focus on decreasing dependency on critical components from China. This role also involves enhancing commercial terms, including negotiating longer payment terms and vendor stocking agreements to reduce lead times, while ensuring supplier quality, lead time improvements, and ESG compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead global strategic sourcing, purchasing, and supplier development initiatives.
Oversee a purchasing volume of approximately $500 million, managing teams across the US, Mexico, Asia, and Europe.
Develop and execute annual cost reduction strategies, manage supply chain risks, and reduce dependency on critical components from China.
Consolidate the supply base and improve commercial terms, including negotiating longer payment terms and vendor stocking agreements.
Drive improvements in supplier quality, lead time reductions, and ensure ESG compliance and reporting.
Collaborate closely with Business Unit Presidents, CFOs, Product Managers, CEO, COO, Executive Commercial Leadership, Corporate Strategy, and Legal Departments.
Provide leadership and mentorship to VP and Director-level executives.
Support Mergers and Acquisitions activities.
Engage in international travel as required.
Qualifications
Global Strategic Sourcing:
Extensive experience in leading global sourcing strategies across multiple regions, including North America, Asia, and Europe.
Proven ability to manage and optimize a global supply chain, including experience in reducing dependency on single-source suppliers and managing supply chain risks.
Supplier Development and Management:
Track record of successfully developing and managing relationships with key suppliers, including negotiating favorable terms and ensuring supplier compliance with quality and ESG standards.
Experience in consolidating the supplier base and implementing supplier improvement programs focused on cost reduction, lead time improvements, and quality enhancement.
Cost Reduction and Procurement Strategy:
Demonstrated success in developing and executing cost reduction initiatives, including the ability to achieve significant savings through strategic sourcing and supplier negotiation.
Experience in crafting and implementing procurement strategies that align with broader business goals, including long-term financial planning and sustainability.
Leadership and Executive Collaboration:
Proven leadership in managing and mentoring senior-level executives, such as VPs and Directors, with a focus on driving performance and professional development.
Ability to collaborate effectively with C-suite executives, including CEOs, COOs, CFOs, and Business Unit Presidents, to align sourcing strategies with corporate objectives.
Change Management:
Experience in leading change management initiatives within the sourcing and procurement function, particularly in times of significant organizational transformation or restructuring.
