All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, protected veteran status, or disability status.Description:Markon is seeking a Fire Protection Engineer to support one of our Intelligence Community customers to coordinate fire protection requirements for various projects, bring a SME level component to answer RFIs, perform inspections as necessary and communicate effectively to senior leadership.Duties may include:Conduct inspections of new construction and renovations to validate compliance of fire protection and life safety.Assist designers with document reviews, consultations, and interpreting FLS requirements and regulations to ensure complete, biddable, and buildable designs.Witness testing and commissioning of fire protection systems and equipment.Conduct fire safety audits, inspections, and investigations.Prepare draft fire protection policy, SOPs, and design standards.Prepare and brief documentation on fire safety data and metrics.Job Requirements
Requirements:Must have an active TS/SCI with a Polygraph.Bachelor's Degree plus 11 years of experience (experience/education may be substituted for equivalency).Previous experience in the construction of fire suppression and fire alarm systems.Strong working knowledge of applicable ICC and NFPA codes.Ability to produce FLS designs of a variety of critical FLS elements and be able to provide critical comments on FLS designs and installations.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with 29 CFR 1960.20.Specific experience with programs at Federal agencies is preferred.Former training on the use/maintenance of Fire Protection systems.Travel
