The Division of Academic & Student Affairs (DASA) is where students discover connections and community. It is where students live, where they gather, where they improve themselves, each other, and their university. DASA is where students seek guidance and support, both in and outside of the classroom. The division serves all students at NC State through three integrated components: academic affairs, student affairs, and University College.Living and Learning Villages:

Living and Learning Villages are communities within University Housing residential spaces where students, staff, and/or faculty engage in programs that are tailored to Village-specific content and strategies. Villages provide students with the opportunity to connect with other NC State community members who share a common interest or lived experience through curricular and co-curricular programs.Village Overview Specific to EcoVillage:

As one of our 15 Living and Learning Programs, the EcoVillage provides experiential learning uniting approximately 160 NC State University students around the goals of sustainable living and awareness.Primary Duties:In collaboration with University Housing’s Residence Life team, cultivate intentional interactions connected to the village mission.Assess, evaluate, and report on the Village experience.Develop and implement learning outcome-specific programs and experiential learning opportunities.Connect students to transitional opportunities and high-impact experiences across the university.Open and Welcoming Community:Create and maintain an open and welcoming community.Foster a community encompassing various student populations.Participate in ongoing training to support the needs of the community.Serve as an advocate and role model for staff and village participants.Crisis and Resident Behavior:Support the Residence Life team in crisis response and management.Serve as a resource and make referrals for residents and staff experiencing personal challenges.Cultivate a community of care in support of student mental health.Administration:Maintain accurate records and complete annual reports.Provide budget oversight for the Village community.Develop and maintain the village website and marketing materials.Coordinate Village recruitment activities.Manage village spaces and coordinate Village membership.Coordinate Village move-in logistics and welcome events.Facilitate recognition efforts through awards and events.Supervision:Supervise, train, and evaluate Village Mentors and a Graduate Assistant.Coach and mentor village staff through regular meetings.Partnership Development:Lead Advisory Council meetings.Develop strategic partnerships that support student learning outcomes.Cultivate relationships with relevant staff and committees.Teaching/Instruction:Develop and instruct linked Village academic courses.Coordinate student enrollment in all village-linked course sections.Other Responsibilities:Maintain office hours, respond to communication, and conduct meetings as required.Serve on University Housing and Environmental committees.Monitor programming and budgets; perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Minimum Education and Experience:A Master’s degree in a related field.1 to 2 years post-masters work experience with relevant experience.Other Required Qualifications:Excellent written and oral communication skills.Strong commitment to student growth and development.Ability to work collaboratively across cultures.Excellent time management skills.Preferred Qualifications:3-5 years experience in a related field.Experience with living and learning communities.Required License(s) or Certification(s):Valid NC Driver's License required.Recruitment Dates and Special Instructions:Job Open Date:
