Northrop Grumman Aeronautics is looking for you to join our team as a Manager Facilities Engineering 2 based out of El Segundo, CA.
Key Responsibilities:
Manages a staff of (10-12) non-exempt employees responsible for facility maintenance activities.
Supervisory or management responsibilities for more than one of the following facilities areas: facilities and property administration, office planning, corporate leasing or real estate coordination.
Develops and monitors budget allocations, expenditures, and related financial activities for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate, revenues are recorded, expenses are within budget limits and fiscal practices are followed.
Manages facilities equipment and tooling spare parts inventories to assure operational readiness.
Uses lean thinking/manufacturing fundamentals and TPM principles to organize workflow, streamline internal processes and minimize equipment downtime.
Communicates directly with operations management on status of equipment within the facility.
Drives root cause & corrective action, utilizing reliability engineering to take proactive approach.
Drives small team of reliability engineers and maintenance technicians.
Provides leadership for preventive and corrective maintenance activities, equipment engineering and reliability, housekeeping, landscaping, safety and compliance, work planning and scheduling, inventory and spare parts.
Oversees maintenance goal setting, activity scheduling, work performance and performance management to ensure measurable goals, proper workload distribution, goal satisfaction and effective staff performance management.
Basic Qualifications
Master's degree with 5 years' experience, or a Bachelor’s Degree with 7 years’ experience OR High School/equivalent with 12 years of work experience with a background in one or more of the following: operations, manufacturing Engineering, industrial engineering and/or manufacturing facilities operations, similar related industries.
One year of prior leadership experience in a managerial, supervisory, or lead capacity.
In-depth hands-on knowledge of facilities and equipment maintenance and reliability services.
Solid understanding and experience in troubleshooting factory equipment, mechanical and electrical systems.
Ability to prepare sound presentations and conduct meetings with senior staff.
Proficient in Word, Excel, MS Project, and PowerPoint.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in lean manufacturing and maintenance systems.
Experience in aerospace industry.
Experience working in high-rate manufacturing facilities operating on a 24/7 schedule.
Basic understanding of carbon composite manufacturing is preferred.
Experience in automated industrial equipment such as storing, retrieving, forming, autoclave, conveyance, trim, inspections and CNC machining centers is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to effectively lead teams with diverse maintenance/craft skills and backgrounds.
Hands-on experience/background in maintenance fields strongly preferred (Mechanic, Millwright, Pipefitter, HVAC background).
Monitor all Department Inventory activity to include reorders, maintaining stock levels, receiving, kitting, and item database corrections to ensure timely delivery to schedule.
Oversee contractual activity and vendor accounts to meet Production/Infrastructure demands across the South Bay.
Lead a team of individuals responsible for maintaining proper contract funding, period of performance, and processing of change orders.
