Apply to work with our ever-growing team and help us keep the world cool!JOB SUMMARYThis position is responsible for managing and improving the Cooling logistics efficiencies and costs at operational and transactional levels of business to align our focus to the Strategic Objectives and Corporate Standards. Primary responsibilities include coordinating and monitoring all domestic and international transportation needs. The incumbent is responsible for managing projects with potential cost savings and lead-time reduction opportunities and challenges related to logistics. Requirements include knowledge of how to properly complete documents for both domestic and international shipments. The successful incumbent will be able to manage the budget, implement projects on time, and deliver great customer service. They will have strong organizational and communication skills and be able to focus on details in order to ensure that all requirements are met for each shipment.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for the timely and accurate delivery of material for both domestic and international shipments from SPX plants and vendor locations.Work with the SPX Corporate Logistics Team on cost savings, preferred carrier and freight payment initiatives.Calculate and communicate estimated shipment costs for proposal departments.Improve project margin for each project by ensuring delivery freight lower than budget.Ensure compliance of all documentation and packaging for domestic shipments, international projects and individual shipments (Ex: Bill of Ladings, Hazardous Material Declaration, Harmonized Tariff Numbers, Commercial Invoices, Packing lists, Certificates of Origin, NAFTA documents, Inspection Requirements per Country).Understand the specific countries' requirements when exporting (EX: ISPM-15 Wood packaging, legalization of documents, quarantined declaration required), and help train other logistics personnel, order administrators, project managers, proposal managers, and material managers regarding these requirements.Design, implement, direct, and monitor processes to attain accuracy of inventory and bills of materials, and objectives related to inventory investment, transportation costs, and manpower planning.Manage packaging activities (crating vendors, package utilization, and truckload and container optimization).Facilitate the exchange of best practices between Europe, Asia and North American Logistics Leaders.Facilitate SAP Transportation functionality to best suit logistics needs globally.Other duties as assigned.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree required3-5 years experienceCERTIFICATION/OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIESHazMat certification (preferred)Strong knowledge of SAP (preferred)Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPointKnowledge of international shipments and requirements helpfulUnderstanding of logistics terminology helpfulAPICS (CPIM) or AST&L (CTL) certification highly recommendedThank you for your interest in our company.
