Position Overview:
The Vice President of Production Operations is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the entire production process, from initial build through to warehouse operations, logistics, and final event delivery. This role ensures that all operations run smoothly, efficiently, and within budget. The VP of Production Operations will manage a diverse team, develop production strategies, and work closely with other departments to meet the companys objectives while maintaining the highest standards of quality, creativity, and safety in event execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Develop and implement production strategies aligned with company goals. Lead and mentor production teams to achieve operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Oversee day-to-day production operations, ensuring efficient workflow, timely delivery of products, and adherence to quality standards. Monitor production metrics and KPIs to ensure targets are met.
Manage the production budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality standards. Identify areas for cost savings and implement measures to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing production team. Foster a positive work environment that encourages innovation, teamwork, and accountability.
Identify and implement best practices to optimize production processes. Utilize lean manufacturing principles and other methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce production times.
Ensure that all products meet or exceed quality standards. Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to identify and resolve any issues that may arise during production and installation.
Work closely with the Sales, Marketing, and Product Development teams to ensure that production capabilities align with market demands and product specifications.
Ensure all production activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations. Promote a culture of safety within the production team.
Anticipate and mitigate risks that could impact production schedules or quality. Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of warehouse and logistics professionals. Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance warehouse and logistics operations, including long-term planning, capacity management, and supply chain optimization.
Align the logistics strategy with the overall business objectives, ensuring that logistics and warehousing contribute to the companys growth and profitability.
Desired Education, Experience & Qualifications
:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
Bachelors degree in business administration, Production Management, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in a senior production management role, ideally within the Event Industry.
Strong knowledge of production management principles, including lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies.
Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and lead a diverse team.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficient in production management software and other relevant tools.
