As the Molecular Lab LDT/RUO/Pharma Services Research and Early Development Sub-Chapter Lead, you will be a member of the Diagnostics Solutions Research and Early Development (RED) Team.In this position, you will be the leading figure and key point of contact for Roche Diagnostics' capabilities in Molecular LDT, RUO, and Pharma Services Research and Early Development. You will improve the team's overarching expertise based on current and upcoming needs to deliver on network priorities (e.g. upcoming portfolio investments with new technology skills needed).As the Sub-Chapter Lead, you will be the key enabler to maintain and advance scientific skill profile and technological standards of the Sub-Chapter teams on a world class level.You will be responsible for developing the capabilities of expert teams dedicated to and responsible for complex Research and Early Development programs for Molecular Lab PCR and Sequencing LDT and RUO applications, assays, and translational research/pharma services.As a line manager, you will be responsible for designing and optimizing team members' personal professional journey and coaching your direct reports.You will have an impact on the applied and exploratory research pipeline in the fields of PCR and Sequencing applications and assay development.Leverage a consolidated view of the Sub-Chapter's capabilities to represent the most specialized expertise in the field of Molecular Diagnostics towards Business and other Functions

Define the short and long term capability needs for the Sub-Chapter to deliver on the Function's and Network's strategy, ultimately advancing the Function's expertise and helping our Customer Areas and Life-Cycle Teams (LCTs) to achieve their business objectives

Nurture and develop an empowered, knowledgeable, effective and efficient group of subject matter experts (SMEs) within the Sub-Chapter with the capabilities to support Roche Diagnostics' efforts with best-in-class expertise

Support innovation concepts and programs for the CA Molecular Lab business in cross-functional teams involving suitable skills from other functions like e.g. RED, RRD, and CSI as well as the Molecular lab Development Network, Sequencing Network, Life Cycles, CDMA, and/or other teams

Act as Role-model for Agile Leadership behaviors, as well as for our culture, attitude & behaviors as defined in We@RocheDiagnostics

Have the ability to navigate within a changing organization, maintaining objectivity, respect for differences of opinion, fairness, open communication and consensus building skill

Are responsible for research, Pre-DCC, and DCC product delivery and budget management involving your Sub-Chapter

Who You Are

Advanced degree or equivalent experience in science or a related field. Experience or background in R&D and especially research & early development is a plus.

7+ years of experience in the diagnostics industry or a related field in business related functions and leadership, international project and collaboration management

Deep experience in RUO/IVD PCR and/or sequencing related workflow, application, and assay technologies

Demonstrated thorough understanding of molecular assay design, optimization, early development processes, and a strong understanding of technology development in the fields of PCR, DNA sequencing technology

Experience ensuring that personal professional development is a priority in assignments of your Chapter members and spread awareness for this

Preferred

Experience in translational research services is a plus

Leadership/motivation and integration, strategic approach, project leadership, and network management

Strong track record of building and nurturing capabilities in early development and development

Demonstrates courage, vision and drive to be at the forefront of innovative change

Profound domain knowledge in development exploration fields of PCR and sequencing RUO/LDT applications and assays for the CA Molecular Lab product delivery and pharma services

Proven ability to lead with creative attitude, very high self-awareness and being a coach and a mentor to other leaders and partners

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Pleasonton, CA is $176,700.00 - $328,100.00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.Benefits
