Job Summary:

Assumes responsibilities for planning, organizing, administering and controlling programs and activities necessary to effectively operate all areas of CDSS to meet the goals and objectives of the Center.

Duties:

Oversees the operation of Career Development, Academics, CTT training, Outreach and Admissions, Career Services including Career Preparation, Career Readiness, Career Transition Services, Worked Based Learning and Counseling departments to obtain maximum outcomes.

Ensures all departments under supervision are meeting program requirements as required by PRH, corporate office and the center.

Develops and implements CDSS plan and other required plans and procedures as required by the PRH.

Ensures adequate instructional programming and professional level instructions are given to the trainees in all assigned areas.

Ensures plans, reports and other requirements are submitted and updated timely.

Ensures assigned staff assists students in developing and updating short- and long-term goals using the PCDP and MyPACE Career Plan.

Models, mentors and monitors appropriate career success skills and ensures the effective and efficient administration of the evaluation of student conduct systems.

Provides necessary reports to the Center Director and keeps the CD informed on all matters.

Ensures the safety, health, and security of students, staff, and property.

Develops and maintains linkages with local and distant employers to assist in evaluating career technical offerings, compiling labor market information, and promoting work-based learning and job placement of program participants.

Ensures all training and testing programs are continually evaluated to ensure rigor and relevance of content areas is aligned with the PRH and meet the individual needs of students.

Establishes and implements procedures to ensure all eligible students receive personalized career transition services that lead to long-term employment, earnings growth, career progression, and/or further education through coordination with post-Center providers or direct placement, as applicable.

Ensures coordination of pre-separation contact between students and CTS and provides pre-separation needs assessment, direct placement and identifies transitional support needs to ensure graduates remain successfully attached to the workforce.

Monitors statistical performance and student’s accountability for classes.

Establishes and implements systems to ensure performance is accurately tracked and reported and necessary corrective action is taken to achieve the performance outcome goals and quality standards established by the National Director of Job Corps.

Conducts and documents regular management meetings to provide direction and pass on communications.

Develops and maintains channels of communication with students and staff to provide free flow of information Center-wide.

Adheres to safety practices and performs safety inspections in area of responsibility.

Adheres to required property controls policies and procedures.

Performs other duties as assigned within the individual’s scope and capabilities.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Above average public speaking skills and experience in same; above average verbal and written skills; above average problem solving and conflict resolution skills; computer literacy specifically Internet, Email, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Experience:

Three years’ related experience, one of which must be in a managerial capacity. Experience working with youth preferred. Previous Job Corps experience preferred.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in human services, education or related field required. Master’s degree preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Valid State driver’s license required.
