Join our diverse team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was crafted from the beginning to be human-capable.You will collaborate with the Senior Director of New Glenn Umbilical Team to hit cost, schedule, and technical design landmarks while leading emergent risk & opportunity for New Glenn. You will ensure adherence across the various Umbilical teams to standards and best practices while working to improve the capabilities of the team through coaching and training more junior project members.This role requires excellent organizational skills to ensure design, development, qualification, and production hardware is delivered to New Glenn. You will need to influence those outside of the team in order to meet ambitious goals for development, design, and industrialization of Umbilical products.This role will present status, risks & opportunities, variances, and recovery plans to engineering and program management while quickly adapting to dynamic business rhythms. We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight.Responsibilities:

Develop plans for integration projects; lead cross-functional teams, manage and report progressIdentify risks and develop mitigation plansBuild metrics and data reports to provide program insights to performanceFacilitate change boards to assess programmatic impact of change requestsDrive process improvements to continuously improve program operationCoordinate with procurement, internal and external manufacturing, to ensure that hardware priorities are well understood and actively managed to support the need datesIdentify schedule-critical hardware, equipment, people, and facilities; resolve constraintsDevelop recovery strategies when non-conformances or other escapes are identifiedQualifications:

B.S./B.A. degree in engineering or another technical field7+ years of experience in leading design, development, integration, or testing – preferably with aerospace hardware or complex technical systemsPossess high attention to detail and strong organizational/coordination skillsDemonstrated ability to influence others to achieve specific business objectives or goals outside of your organizationStrong written and verbal communication skillsMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylumPreferred Qualifications:

Working knowledge of configuration management principles and practicesExperience managing large assemblies and Bills of MaterialExperience leading a small technical teamExperience with MS Project, Primavera (P6), DOORS, CREO, WindchillCompensation Range:
