American Federal Bank - Credit Officer
Location: Fargo, North DakotaThis position is a lead member of the Credit team, responsible for managing all Credit Risk functions at the Bank. Responsibilities include reviewing and monitoring the existing portfolio, identifying credit weaknesses, and developing policies, procedures, tools, and training to implement improvements. The role also involves assisting bankers in business development strategies, pricing, identifying target markets, approving loans within delegated authority, and developing training for both new and experienced bankers.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESIdentify current and possible future credit risks that may cause American Federal to exceed targeted credit loss tolerances.Complete loan reviews to assure compliance with Credit Policy and Credit Administration of Business Units and Bankers.Provide expertise in various lending issues and applications, including:Developing standards for loan documentation and training Bankers and Associates in those requirements.Researching and providing direction to lending officers regarding legal issues related to all lending programs.Monitor the Bank's Loan Portfolio to ensure Bankers are consistently and conservatively underwriting while supporting growth targets.Provide accurate and timely reporting to regulatory agencies and develop new or updated reporting as regulations change to ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.Approve loans and servicing requests within delegated authority, and assist in problem loan management activities.
