For placement into the lecturer pool beginning Fall 2024. Subject to availability of funds and actual staffing requirements.Duties and Responsibilities:Instructor responsibilities must be consistent with and supportive of the mission of the institution.Teach courses in the assigned subject area.Prepare course syllabus and reports related to teaching and student progress.Assess student learning in terms of course competencies and program learning outcomes.Submit self-assessment reports based on student and peer evaluations.Work under the general supervision of the discipline coordinator/division chairperson in integrating teaching efforts with other instructors in the discipline area.Maintain one office hour per week for each class taught (20 minutes per credit per week).Classes may be offered online, evenings and/or weekends.The Instructor who teaches two or more courses must develop and annually update a current written professional growth and development plan that outlines: Goals to enhance abilities to fulfill designated responsibilities, Evidence of currency in the areas of teaching responsibilities, Specific measurable action steps with expected timelines by which the faculty member will achieve the goals, Identification of ways in which the faculty member’s professional development plan will contribute to attaining the program’s strategic goals.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy (OT) AND 3 years of experience in occupational therapy, one of which is in teaching in an OT or OTA program, AND Current OT or OTA Hawai‘i State licensure.Desirable Qualifications:The instructor must have documented expertise in their area(s) of teaching responsibility and knowledge of the content delivery method (e.g., distance learning).Evidence of expertise in teaching assignments might include documentation of continuing professional development, relevant experience, faculty development plan reflecting the acquisition of new content, incorporation of feedback from course evaluations, and other sources.The Instructor must possess the expertise necessary to ensure appropriate curriculum design, content delivery, and program evaluation.Work experience related to courses to be taught.Experience working with occupational therapy assistants and/or occupational therapy assistant students.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively.Familiarity with competency- and outcomes-based instruction.Familiarity with ACOTE standards.To Apply:Click on the "Apply" button on the top right corner of the screen to complete an application and attach the required documents.
