We're redefining sustainability, advancing zero-emissions solutions, and driving the electric vehicle revolution.It takes the best to build the best - join us!Primary Purpose:Provide technical and administrative support to the ECS claims staff in the administration of occupational and non-occupational cases in accordance with the company's self-insured workers' compensation program, California Labor Code, the company's sick leave policy, long term disability policy, total disability under the pension plan, Americans with Disabilities Act, FMLA, FEHA and CFRA. Provide administrative support to the ECS management team and administer occupational and non-occupational cases as needed.Duties and Responsibilities:Input new claims data and status changes into the claims management system. Upon direction from claims staff, calculate and initiate first and ongoing payments, enter benefit payment schedules (auto-pays) and enter payroll integrations. Advise assigned claims coordinator of any irregularities in the payment process. Contact physician's office for disability status updates prior to issuance of benefits. Schedule medical appointments and send notification letters to the employees. Prepare various state mandated forms, form letters and other correspondence directly related to Claims administration.Administer occupational and non-occupational claims. Under direct supervision, may administer a number of occupational and non-occupational claims for training and development purposes. On assigned cases, review medical reports and monitor the employee's medical progress and treatment, approve medical bills and out of pocket reimbursements, determine Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordability, facilitate return to work, and pursue subrogation recoveries when applicable.Assist employees and supervisors via telephone with questions regarding cases, benefit explanation and the integration of benefits. Work with the Payroll Department to resolve discrepancies in payments.Perform general administrative support functions including composing and typing letters and memorandums, maintaining files, answering telephone calls, receiving visitors, sorting mail and various other miscellaneous duties as relates to claims administration.Train new administrative support staff and temporary employees. Assist other administrative staff. Assume direct responsibility for clerical activities of complex nature, provide work direction to support staff. Research and compile data for analysis when necessary. Under minimal supervision, take lead responsibility on special projects requiring more advanced accounting data analysis and/or computer application skills.Perform other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).Hybrid Schedule:Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow the employee to work onsite three days per week and remotely on the remaining workdays.Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.Required Qualifications:3 years - General administrative experience.2 years - Experience with an operation that provides services to employees with occupational and/or non-occupational cases required.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Must have basic mathematical skills and the ability to operate computer and other peripheral office equipment including calculator.Knowledge of Microsoft Software and related systems applications including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and payroll system. Must be able to adapt those skills to use of workers' compensation software product required.Strong organizational skills to meet heavy workload and effectively manage multiple demands to avoid the risk of errors resulting in penalties and assessments.Ability to maintain confidential information and materials.Must have strong teamwork and customer service skills.Preferred Qualifications:Associate's Degree.Completed at least one California Workers' Compensation Course within the last three years.Continuing education in Workers' Compensation and disability management and related fields.All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, citizenship, disability or protected veteran status.Note:
