This candidate will be based in our Los Angeles, CA office and will be responsible for the following:Providing technical and project management expertise to our clients on their rail vehicle fleet feasibility studies, procurements, operations, and maintenance activities including overhauls and asset managementMaintaining and building client relationships to grow the business and acquire new contractsClient representation, including traveling to client or manufacturer/supplier locations for in-person meetings, audits, inspections and/or collaboration activities, as requiredCollaborating with numerous other disciplines to ensure all vehicle to wayside integration issues are addressedManaging contract budgets and being familiar with cost analysis terms and their useCandidate Qualifications:Mott MacDonald provides cost-effective, creative, and innovative engineering solutions in North America for several different industry sectors. We are seeking a rolling stock (rail vehicle) project manager to join the team with the ideal candidate having the following experience:Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical EngineeringPE preferredMinimum 7 years previous experience as a Rolling Stock (Rail Vehicle) Engineer/Project ManagerMust have experience in technical report writingMust have experience in producing technical specifications and independent cost estimatesGeneral knowledge of rules, regulations, and standards as related to Rail VehiclesExperience conducting vehicle inspections, quality audits, and witnessing equipment testingExperience supporting project management staff with vehicle procurements and/or vehicle overhaul workExperience developing proposals to provide agencies engineering services and technical supportExperience with Bus fleets is a plusAbility to work both autonomously and within a teamExcellent written and verbal communication skills
