Primary ResponsibilitiesPOSITION PURPOSE:

The Senior Supply Chain Logistics Manager will oversee the Inbound Transportation carrier development team. This role is responsible for securing and managing cost-effective carrier capacity to support KeHE’s Supply Chain and its 3PL subsidiary. This manager is also responsible and accountable for analysis and reporting for the KeHE Inbound Network. Essential FunctionsDUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Oversee, manage and lead the carrier development team.

Track, analyze and report transportation financial metrics in support of Inbound Transportation.

Prepare analytics to design transportation optimization solutions.

Publish and distribute carrier scorecards, while collaborating with team members to report operational and financial metrics.

Develop strategic bid plans considering current and future industry state, aligning to the strategic domestic transportation plans and KeHE financial targets.

Administer RFP’s, negotiate contracts, and manage relationship with service providers for truckload, intermodal and LTL shipments.

Pursue and strategize new business opportunities with the Freight Conversion team and our carrier partnership base.

Collaborate with our systems team to promote efficiency through enhancements.

Monitor and address routing guide compliance, tender acceptance, on-time performance and no-show metrics.

Work with carrier partners and internal team members to understand freight impact, resolve issues and ensure top tier service and performance.

Oversee the freight claims process for the company.

Address carrier performance and develop & implement action plans to improve service.

Support day-to-day transportation business processes in close collaboration with Inbound Operations Managers.

Analyze, manage and report on key performance indicators.

Other duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, AptitudeSKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

Strong analytical capabilities for reviewing large amounts of data, summarizing the material for management, and identifying the critical issues at both the summary and detail level.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, accurate with details and a demonstrated ability to communicate cross-functional teams and with external partners.

Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Transportation Management Systems.

Strong project management and organizational skills.

Must be results-oriented, self-directed, and have excellent time management skills.

Able to lead a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong process improvement skills.

A team player who works well with others.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management or a related field.

Minimum of 7 years previous transportation/logistics experience.

Minimum of 4 years management experience.

Leadership experience in a similar role within the transportation or logistics industry preferred.

Advanced Degree or certification: Masters, Six Sigma, Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
