This position is responsible for directing all procurement activities for direct materials to support our manufacturing locations in North America. The individual in this position will develop global sourcing strategies, improve procurement processes, resolve issues, and track and monitor progress of the team on established KPIs. This position will also be responsible for collaborating effectively with suppliers and stakeholders.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead purchasing and category management teams responsible for direct materials including solvents, resins, monomers, pigments, additives, and toll manufacturing.

Improve or transform procurement processes, systems, and strategies to advance the organization’s Supply Chain transformation roadmap.

Lead supplier relationship management initiatives, form strategic supplier partnerships, and ensure supplier performance to established metrics.

Develop and maintain a global sourcing strategy that ensures stability of supply, reduction of risk, and optimization of raw material costs.

Responsible for developing supplier agreements and developing procurement plans based on market conditions, requirements, and supplier risk.

Lead critical SAP and business process improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enable effective external collaboration.

Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve issues, support customer-facing communications and meetings as necessary.

Provide leadership to cross-functional Supply Chain initiatives.

Maintain raw material inventory at optimal levels.

Coach and mentor direct reports and other Procurement team members.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

10 years of progressive leadership experience, with at least 5 years managing direct reports (required).

5 years of SAP experience in Materials Management and Production Planning (required).

Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (required), MBA (desired).

CPM or CSCP certification (desired).

Chemical industry background (desired).
