$150,426 - $204,662Job Summary:
The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Public Safety is a highly experienced and strategic leader to serve as the Chief of Police for the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA). This role oversees all aspects of law enforcement, 49 CFR Part 1542 - Airport Security program, airport rescue and firefighting (ARFF), and emergency medical services at the Nashville International Airport. Other responsibilities include providing oversight to ensure compliance and sustained accreditation with the Commission on Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage the Public Safety Department, ensuring effective law enforcement in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.Oversee the implementation and compliance of the 49 CFR Part 1542 - Airport Security program, maintaining stringent security measures and protocols.Direct the delivery of Part 139 ARFF services, emergency medical functions, and all documents that impact the safe and secure operation of Nashville International Airport.Develop and implement policies and procedures that enhance safety, security, and efficiency within the airport environment.Direct the inspection of all airport premises relative to public safety.Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement within the department.Identify environmental hazards and address them in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations.Maintain a 24-hour on-call schedule and respond by telephone or in person based on the severity of the incident.Represent the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) and tenant interests with applicable government agencies (local, state, and federal).Provide leadership and management to public safety and security activities.Manage budgeting, personnel, and resource allocation efficiently, optimizing departmental performance and sustainability.Maintain regular and on-time attendance.Follow all safety regulations.Support MNAA's commitment to its culture and values, including Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence (RISE).Establish working relationships with area police, fire, and emergency medical and management chief executives.Provide oversight to ensure compliance and to sustain accreditation to CALEA.Recommend corrective actions.Perform other duties as assigned.Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in a related field.7-10 years of related experience.Valid CLASS D Driver's License.Police Officer - POST Certification (180 days upon hire).Certified Member (CM) of the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) (1 year upon hire).Location:
