Halff has an opening for a Transportation Leader to fill our Director of Transportation (PE) position at our Halff office location in Tyler, Texas. This is a strategic leadership position to bolster our transportation practice in TxDOT's East Texas districts (Tyler, Paris, Atlanta, Lufkin). The ideal candidate will bring experience working with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), preferably in the East Texas area. The candidate must have civil engineering experience with a focus in transportation design and project management in the consulting industry and/or experience working with, or for, public sector clients. Director of Transportation (PE) Responsibilities:

Strengthening and building client relationships, assistance in managing and growing a production team, lead project pursuits, and lead delivery of transportation design and advanced planning projects.

Contribute to professional growth of younger employees

Manage personnel, budgets, schedules, sub consultants and client interaction.

Work closely with the Operations Manager, Transportation Practice Leader, Director of Construction Services, and Transportation Team Leaders in business development activities.

Director of Transportation (PE) Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET-accredited equivalent Engineering degree

A minimum of 12 years of experience in transportation project delivery

Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) experience (as an TxDOT employee or consultant)

Professional Engineer (P.E.) License in Texas

Ability to lead a project and supervise technical staff in TxDOT project delivery

Ability to identify, pursue, and win TxDOT PS&E contracts

Proven business development experience

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

A positive attitude, be self-directed yet a team player, and have a focus on quality, integrity, and success
