As a Senior Staff Scientist, the selected candidate will have the opportunity to lead functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity.This position is part of Assay Research and will be located in Sunnyvale, CA, Onsite.In this role, you will have the opportunity to:Demonstrate depth and/or breadth of expertise in your specialized discipline or field.Act as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead functional teams or projects.Communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with others to adopt a different point of view.Solve complex problems; take a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions.Work independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.The essential requirements of the job include:Design and development of real-time PCR and RT-PCR IVD assay, including design assay control(s) for assay performance evaluation and quality control.Maintaining detailed experimental records and presenting data at technical meetings.Leads others to solve complex problems; uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.Design and develop the unique PCR based IVD product and assay control(s).Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology or related field with 8+ years of related work experience OR Master’s degree in Molecular Biology or related field with 6+ years of related work experience OR Doctoral degree in Molecular Biology or related field with 3+ years of related work experience.Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:Ability to lift, move or carry equipment up to 25 lbs.Ability to work in a laboratory environment wearing personal protective equipment including but not limited to lab coats, goggles, gloves, masks, etc. for extended periods.It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:Developing new assays and/or test methods/procedures.Knowledge of biomarker discovery, signature evaluation, and ability to apply a wide variety of scientific principles and concepts to potential inventions.The salary range for this role is $133,000.00 to $205,000.00 USD Annual.
