the application process for external applicants .JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:The Admissions Office at Penn State Dickinson Law is seeking a part-time J.D. application reviewer. The ideal candidate would be able to devote 8-10 hours a week (working from home) with a goal of reviewing 25-30 files per week using the Law School Admission Council’s proprietary Unite system. The temporary appointment will begin on or around October 1, 2024, and end on June 30, 2025. The pay rate will be $25 per hour. Responsibilities will include:Reviewing and making recommendations on admission applications to the J.D. program;Using holistic evaluation methods to make a comprehensive assessment of each candidate;Understanding institutional objectives and making recommendations in support of such;Providing feedback on relevant aspects of application;Keeping accurate notes and file management in application management database;Other duties as required.Qualifications include:Experience reviewing admissions applications and making recommendations or rendering decisions;Thorough knowledge of admissions best practices;Excellent judgment, discretion, organization, time-management and communication skills;Commitment to supporting the diversity of the law school student body;Excellent critical thinking and reading comprehension skills.Prior admissions and application review experience at the law school or graduate level is preferred, but not required. A quiet and secure work environment which protects the confidentiality of applicants’ information is required.
