The Procurement Manager will report to the SVP, Operations & Strategic Development. The Procurement Manager will provide direction and leadership to Supply Chain staff including planning, goal setting, performance monitoring, training, development and mentorship, and clear communication of responsibilities and expectations. Strong organizational and program/project management, and strategy skills are required to optimize the performance of the team. The execution of the indirect procurement function including capital procurement, services, expense items and MRO. The ideal candidate will also have the capability to analyze and consolidate large volumes of spend data across functional departments and locations to identify and drive cost savings initiatives.
The Procurement Manager will partner with all cross-functional teams to ensure that Aspen purchases for high dollar and/or frequently purchased items are procured in a timely and cost-efficient manner. The Procurement Manager must be an adaptable, highly organized problem solver who strategizes to find value-added, cost-effective products and reliable suppliers. The Procurement Manager's duty is to discover the best way to procure our indirect materials and services so the company can invest in growth and people.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and maintain a motivated, productive and positive team by selecting, training, coaching, counseling and taking appropriate corrective action when needed. Lead and manage a team of Supply Chain professionals responsible for buying indirect materials and services to support the business and save money.
Sourcing suppliers and maintaining long-lasting relationships with them as well as existing suppliers.
Collaborating with legal counsel to ensure that all contracts relating to procurement contain all details of the negotiation.
Oversee contracting team to ensure adherence to Aspen standards.
Develop and implement world-class programs & standard processes to plan and execute procurement business needs.
Develop strategies for and conduct multiple bid analysis, negotiate, and select preferred suppliers to optimize Aspen’s spend for critical equipment, supplies, and services.
Assessing quotes and compiling a detailed assessment of cost breakdowns.
Generating quote comparisons and contributing to internal supplier selection based on the quotes.
Identify and achieve cost reductions through cost analysis, project creation, and subsequent contract negotiations.
Working in business ERP software to analyze and manage procurement records.
Providing solutions to improve company spending and outsourcing.
Report savings in an analytical manner.
Drafts, executes and manages supply agreements across commodities, suppliers, products, and services particularly for consolidated supply partners across plants and functions.
Developing risk management procedures to mitigate risks for critical suppliers and projects.
Identify and implement success metrics by which to measure and manage indirect materials procurement, including annual cost savings goals.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

Manages a team of direct reports and is responsible for employee selection, development, mentoring, and performance management. Develop a team of critical thinkers with high intellectual capability that can execute and continuously improve.
Act as a mentor and educator to build needed competencies related to supply planning best practices.
Carries out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Chemistry, Operations or related field (MBA preferred). 7+ years of global experience in the areas of Supply Chain Management, Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Planning, Logistics and Execution and/or Demand Management.
3+ years experience leading and managing procurement teams with a focus on mentoring, coaching and performance management.
Computer skills required: Accounting Software; Contract Management Systems; Inventory Software; Microsoft Office Suite; Project Management Software.
Other skills required:
Strong leadership and effective business partnering capabilities – influence without authority.
Solid understanding of the strategic sourcing and category management process.
Requires ability to take care of ambiguity and the corresponding capacity to make decisions or recommendations based on potentially incomplete information.
Capable of working across all functions and levels of an organization.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Frequently required to sit.
Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
Occasionally exposed to extreme heat or cold (non-weather).
