SCOPE:

The Site Continuous Improvement Leader position for the Engineered Controls International is responsible for improving key performance indicators focused on working capital reductions, set up time, efficiency, and other company continuous improvement initiatives by utilizing Lean Six Sigma methodologies, techniques, and tools. He or she is responsible for transferring the learning throughout the organization. The incumbent may be required to prepare and deliver presentations and status reports to keep local and corporate leadership abreast of the results.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Continue the evolution of Lean and Six Sigma deployment within ECI, to include specific goals, objectives, timetables, and action plans.

Lead Kaizen events and train the plant team members in the principles, methods, and applications such that continuous improvement efforts are integrated into change management processes.

Coordinate efforts with functional leaders, staff members, and other Lean Six Sigma Leaders in identifying improvement opportunities within the organization and develop justifications to substantiate potential cost savings to the business.

Conduct set up time and motion studies and/or utilize value stream mapping and process charting to establish and validate standards and to troubleshoot and streamline work flows.

Plan, prepare and lead continuous improvement events, projects and activities.

Serve as a coach/consultant to production/operations and process engineering, helping to drive sustained improvements via strategy deployment and alignment to continuous improvement plans.

Identifies continuous improvement projects consistent with ECI’s goals and strategies and ensures projects are properly defined, sponsored, and justified. Ensure measurable cost reduction that is sustained.

Uses appropriate metrics to manage and track continuous improvement goals, progress, and results.

QUALIFICATION/EDUCATION:

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering or related field.

Three to Five years of experience in a manufacturing environment with excellent track record of business results and increasingly higher levels of responsibility.

Experience in problem solving, building cooperative relationships, and effective communications.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to give and share information to/with co-workers and operations in order to achieve optimum plant performance.

One to Two years’ experience in leading continuous improvement efforts using Toyota Production System and/or Lean Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.

Six Sigma Black Belt certification is preferred.
