With compassion for people, commitment to service, motivation to affect change, and knowledge about your role and responsibilities as an HIV Test Counselor, you will help to fulfill this mission by providing culturally sensitive HIV counseling and testing to a diverse population of at-risk persons in various settings.Implementing HIV testing through various methods including Mobile Unit Testing, event testing, daily street outreach, and other non-traditional venues, you’ll utilize your experience as an HIV Test Counselor who has worked in multicultural environments and your knowledge of issues impacting people of color living with HIV to support your efforts in coordinating referrals, resources, and linkage services to providers that are able to address our client’s needs. You will ensure clients are educated about HIV and how to prevent disease transmission, understand the process of HIV testing, and the importance of knowing their status.
