VICE PRESIDENT OF ADVANCEMENT

Holy Cross Preparatory Academy (HCPA), an independent preparatory high school in Delran, NJ, has an opening for Vice President of Advancement.

The Vice President of Advancement is a senior leader responsible for designing and executing a comprehensive institutional advancement plan for the school. This role includes leading and managing all facets of advancement programs, including annual, major, and planned giving, corporate and foundation relations, named and memorial scholarships, endowment, capital campaigns, alumni and constituent relations efforts, stewardship, and advancement services. The Vice President will also build and maintain a personal portfolio of major and principal gift donors, oversee campaign planning and integration, and ensure the success of Holy Cross Preparatory Academy’s comprehensive campaign. The individual will report directly to the President.

Specific Duties:

Responsible for working with the President in the successful advancement of the mission of the school.

Develop and execute a short-term and long-term comprehensive advancement program.

Major Gifts - Identify, cultivate, communicate, and solicit major gifts ($10,000+) prospects for the school. Coordinate the development and submission of funding proposals to foundations and corporations.

Annual Fund - Develop and implement a comprehensive and goal-oriented Annual Fund giving program. Establish and set Annual Fund goals in collaboration with the President. Maintain and update the constituent database accordingly.

Alumni Program - Develop, implement, and work with the advancement office staff on an Alumni Program for the school - database management, segmentation, and coordinating activities for Alumni, including receptions and career day.

Capital Campaign - Develop, implement, and manage future capital campaigns in collaboration with the President, Board of Trustees, and Steering Committee. Manage database, pledges, acknowledgements, and activities related to the future capital campaign.

Constituent Relations - Develop and implement a comprehensive constituent relations program with the advancement office staff, ensuring cultivation activity is taking place for each constituency on an annual basis.

Communications - Coordinate appropriate communications with the advancement office staff and with all parts of the school community regarding the activities and progress of the advancement program. Develop, publish, and distribute a bi-annual newsletter, including a Report of Gifts and Annual Report of Giving.

Grant Management - Apply for and manage all grant funding.

Administrative Duties:

Prepare and manage the annual budget for the advancement office with the assistance of the Business Manager and Finance Committee.

Develop, review, and maintain accurate and current financial records and database to include all constituents and prospective donors in the Advancement plan.

Ensure that all donations are promptly acknowledged, and donors are thanked for their contributions.

Manage the Bloomerang Alumni Database.

Manage and approve all school fundraising activities in conjunction with the President.

Serve as the advancement liaison to the Advancement Committee of the Board.

Carry out other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the President.

Qualifications:

Hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an area of study that supports the role/responsibilities of the position.

Understand the mission and identity of a Catholic institution (practicing Catholic preferred).

A minimum of five years of experience in advancement including supervisory experience. Catholic school experience preferred.

Proven track record of increasing institutional support. Experience with soliciting major gifts, managing an annual fund, implementing special events, and grant management is preferred.

This is a full-time, 12-month, exempt position that requires evening and weekend work as well as travel (local and nationally). Holy Cross Preparatory Academy offers a competitive salary along with full benefits, vacation, and retirement plan. The Vice President of Advancement reports directly to the President.
